Natalie King at the 2022 Equity Crowdfunding Week

Natalie King is a trailblazing advocate for environmental justice and clean energy, with a mission to bring sustainable solutions to communities disproportionately affected by air pollution. Her company, Dunamis Charge, is the first African American woman-owned electric vehicle (EV) charging manufacturer in the United States.

King's journey began with her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and Juris Doctorate from Wayne State University. With over 20 years of experience managing her own law practice, she ventured into clean technology in 2007 with a solar energy company. Though the company eventually folded, King gained invaluable insights into the environmental disparities faced by communities of color and low-income populations.

Her passion for fighting environmental injustice led to the creation of Dunamis Clean Energy Partners, an energy efficiency and environmental service company that grew into a multi-million-dollar corporation with over 150 employees in Southeastern Michigan. This success paved the way for the formation of Dunamis Charge, now a standalone company and a testament to King's dedication to environmental justice.

Dunamis Charge aims to make EV chargers affordable and accessible to a wider range of consumers. Through extensive research and development, the company has created high-quality chargers that are quieter, faster, and more affordable than their competitors. Additionally, Dunamis Charge supports local manufacturing, employing hundreds of skilled engineers and staff in Detroit.

King's vision for the future of clean energy involves an expansion of EV charging infrastructure, mass consumer adoption, and residential charging emerging as the largest segment of the market. Dunamis Charge is well-positioned to capture a substantial share of the booming EV charging market, by bridging the gap between disadvantaged communities and access to clean energy.

With her leadership, experience, and unwavering commitment to environmental justice, Natalie King and Dunamis Charge are poised to play a vital role in shaping the future of clean energy. Their efforts to provide sustainable solutions to underserved communities and promote diversity and inclusion in the clean energy industry set an inspiring example for others to follow.
